The Pacific Ocean is the world's largest ocean, covering more than one-third of the Earth surface. The Pacific Ocean is surrounded by a series of mountain chains, deep trenches and islands, which is often referred to as the "Ring of Fire". The majestic size of the Pacific Ocean and the earthquakes associated with the Ring of Fire often combine to create hage, deadly tsunamis. These tsunamis can travel from one side of the Pacific to the other side in less than a day, and sometimes reach coastal regions within minutes.
